The Division provides clinical care that gives our patients the best chance to overcome their disease while also allowing them to experience as much of their childhoods as possible. With support from our fundraising partner Hope & Heroes, we are able to help our young patients and their families with a full spectrum of support, many of which are completely free. Here’s how:
When you choose care from the Division, you have access to a full team of specialists and supportive staff from day one. Their primary responsibility is to make your experience as easy as possible. We have physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, child-life therapists, music therapists, art therapists, psychologists, integrative therapy practitioners, research nurses, coordinators, and administrative personnel—all working together to meet your needs. Center for Comprehensive Wellness
Our medical programs seek to achieve more precise treatments for disease, and we take the same approach to wellness care. It must be personalized for the child and family. The Center for Comprehensive Wellness (CCW)—within the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation—assimilates integrative treatments such as meditation and yoga, supportive care, nutritional counseling, psychosocial support, and survivorship wellness into each patient’s plan of care. Palliative care program
A child’s diagnosis affects the whole family. Unlike past definitions equating palliative care with hospice care, today’s palliative care providers work with patients and families dealing with a serious illness from the moment of diagnosis and throughout their journey with the disease. Learn more.
Resources and connections
We can help you with your needs from diagnosis through recovery. From connecting your family with places to stay in New York City like the Ronald McDonald House in New York, to connections with support groups for youth, parents and families, we will adapt to your family’s needs and connect you with appropriate internal and external resources.
Care for patients in need
Almost half of our patients’ families demonstrate financial need. Our fundraising partner Hope & Heroes ensures that every child we treat receives the highest quality caliber of care—regardless of families’ ability to pay. Learn more about Hope & Heroes.
