Opportunities for residents

Interns in our residency program provide direct care to patients on oncology service. During their rotation, resident learn on rounds and twice a week they receive didactic teaching by a fellow or attending. Residents are encouraged to do electives on hematology and bone marrow transplant service.

Residents are expected to attend lectures on Monday afternoons, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and are also expected to attend tumor boards, morbidity/mortality meetings, service rounds and morphology rounds.

Many of our faculty members serve as clinical advisor and research mentors for residents interested in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology fellowship.

Several of our residents have conducted retrospective and prospective clinical and basic science research studies with in our division and have received grants and published papers in prestigious  journals and presented their research in national and international meetings.
